2022 San Diego Open, a WTA 500 tournament, on Hard, in San Diego, California, USA, 10-16 October 2022.
This is the first time the tournament has been held since 2015, when it was held as a WTA Challenger, and before that 2013, when as a WTA Premier level event, wildcard Samantha Stosur (5) defeated Victoria Azarenka (1) 6-2 6-3 in the final.
Veronika Kudermetova withdrew after the main draw was published due to a shoulder injury, and was replaced by lucky loser Jil Teichmann.
