This is the first time the tournament has been held since 2015, when it was held as a WTA Challenger, and before that 2013, when as a WTA Premier level event, wildcard Samantha Stosur (5) defeated Victoria Azarenka (1) 6-2 6-3 in the final.
Veronika Kudermetova withdrew after the main draw was published due to a shoulder injury, and was replaced by lucky loser Jil Teichmann.
Elena Rybakina withdrew after the main draw was published due to illness, and was replaced by lucky loser Zheng Qinwen.
First round results:
