Bouzkova first title in Prague

Final day in Prague.

2022 Livesport Prague Open, a WTA 250 tournament, on Hardin Prague, Czech Republic, 25-31 July 2022.

Defending champion:
Barbora Krejcikova (2) who defeated Tereza Martincova (8) 6-2 6-0

Final:

Anastasia Potapova (7) v Marie Bouzkova (8) (Czech Republic)

The players met once previously - Bouzkova won in three sets in qualifying for Miami earlier this year.

The final saw Bouzkova fly out of the blocks, breaking Potapova in her first three service games, and not facing a break point herself.

The opening set took just 27 minutes and Bouzkova was half way to the title 6-0.

The second set began with no let up for Potapova as she lost serve again.

However, Bouzkova was broken in the following game. 1-1.

The next three games also went against serve and Bouzkova led 3-2.

The Czech player stopped the trend by contributing a love game at the line, and extending the advantage to 4-2.

For the first time in the final Potapova held serve, saving a break point along the way, and she remained in touch 3-4.

Bouzkova held comfortably, and then broke Potapova for the seventh time to win the match 6-0 6-3, capturing the title.

This was the first title for Bouzkova, after three unsuccessful attempts in finals before.

Her ranking improves 20 spots to #46, equal career high.

Final:

Roberto Bautista Agut (3) (Spain) v wildcard Filip Misolic (Austria)

This was the first contest between the two players, and the first final at ATP level for Misolic.

Roberto survived two deuces and saved a break point before holding serve and levelling at 1-1 in the first set.
He then broke the Misolic serve.

Misolic saved two break points in the fifth game to avoid going down a double break.
However that trouble was only delayed, as Roberto delivered another blow in game seven to lead 5-2 and leave him serving for the set.
The task was completed for the cost of just one point, Bautista Agut ahead 6-2.

Set two was similar early on, with Bautista Agut breaking for a 2-1 lead.
Then, in the longest game of the set, Misolic took it up to the third seed, threatening to break back. Bautista Agut held firm, saving a break point in the process.
Misolic was broken in the following game, and that was effectively match over.

Roberto Bautista Agut served out the match 6-2 6-2, to claim the title, his 11th from 21 finals, and second this year after winning in Qatar in February.
