WTA - Warsaw 1R continued

First round continued in Warsaw.

2022 BNP Paribas Poland Open, a WTA 250 tournament, on Clayin Warsaw, Poland, 25-31 July 2022.

Defending champion:
Maryna Zanevska who defeated Kristina Kucova 6-4 7-6(4)

Second seed Yulia Putintseva withdrew after the main draw was published due to a wrist injury, and was replaced by lucky loser Kateryna Baindl.
Varvara Gracheva was instated as ninth seed and moved in the draw to the place previously occupied by Putintseva.
Gracheva’s place in the draw was taken by qualifier Jesika Maleckova.
Baindl took the place in the draw previously allocated to a qualifier.
Third seed Sara Sorribes Tormo withdrew after the main draw was published, and was replaced by lucky loser Gabriela Lee.
Jasmine Paolini was instated as tenth seed and moved in the draw to the place previously occupied by Sorribes Tormo.
Paolini’s place in the draw was taken by qualifier Arianne Hartono.
Lee took the place in the draw previously allocated to a qualifier.
Fourth seed Irina-Camelia Begu withdrew after the main draw was published due to a change in schedule, and was replaced by lucky loser Laura Pigossi.
Maryna Zanevska was instated as eleventh seed and moved in the draw to the place previously occupied by Begu.
Pigossi took the place in the draw previously occupied by Zanevska.

First round results:
- Qualifier Raluka Serban led lucky loser Gabriela Lee 6-3 2-6 3-2 when rain stopped play 
- Jasmine Paolini (10) defeated Danka Kovinic 6-1 6-1
- Clara Burel defeated Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 7-6(5) 6-1
- Anna Bondar (6) led Kristina Mladenovic 6-1 3-3 when rain stopped play 
- Lucky loser Kateryna Baindl led Maryna Zanevska (11) 6-3 3-1 when rain stopped play 
- Ana Bogdan defeated Nuria Parrizas Diaz (7) 6-4 7-6(3)
