1st title for Cerundolo in Båstad

Defending champion:

Casper Ruud (1) who defeated Federico Coria 6-3 6-3

Final:

Francisco Cerundolo (Argentina) v Sebastian Baez (8) (Argentina)

This would be the first meeting between the players.

After exchanging service breaks in the first two games, the pair held serve for the remainder of the set.

It wasn’t without difficulty though.  

Baez saved four break points in the sixth game, Cerundolo saved six break points in the eleventh game, and Baez saved two set points in the twelfth game.

In the tie break, Cerundolo raced to 6-2, and despite Baez saving two set points, Cerundolo took the set 7-6(4).

In set two, Cerundolo broke Baez in games three and five, and was never threatened on his own serve.

Francisco Cerundolo won the match 7-6(4) 6-2 and with it the title.

This was the first title for Cerundolo from his second final.
