Rune wins Stockholm Open

Final day in Stockholm.

2022 Stockholm Open, an ATP 250 tournament, on Hard Indoor, in Stockholm, Sweden, 17-23 October 2022.

Defending champion:
Tommy Paul who defeated Denis Shapovalov (3) 6-4 2-6 6-4

Final:

Wildcard Stefanos Tsitsipas (1) (Greece) v Holger Rune (7) (Denmark)

Rune won the only previous contest between the players - round of sixteen at this year’s Roland Garros.

Tsitsipas was broken in the third game of the match, and neither player was taken to deuce in any other game of the set.
Rune served it out 6-4.

As with the first set, Rune broke Tsitsipas in the third game of set two.
Tsitsipas saved a break point in game five and avoided being behind a double break.
Rune saved a break point in the following game and kept his advantage 4-2.

Rune maintained the edge until the end, serving out the match 6-4 6-4.

This was title number two from three finals, all finals this year, and the other title coming in Munich in April.
