WTA - Granby 1R start

First round commenced in Granby.

2022 Championnats Banque Nationale de Granby, a WTA 250 tournament, on Hard, in Granby, Canada, 21-27 August 2022.

Previously an ITF Women’s World Tour tournament, and now upgraded to a WTA Tour level event.

Second seed Alison Van Uytvanck withdrew after the main draw was published due to a back injury, and was replaced by alternate Jamie Loeb.
Daria Saville was instated as ninth seed and moved in the draw to the place previously occupied by Van Uytvanck.
Loeb took the place in the draw previously occupied by Saville.
Sixth seed Lucia Bronzetti withdrew after the main draw was published due to a change of schedule, and was replaced by lucky loser Himeno Sakatsume.
Marta Kostyuk was instated as tenth seed and moved in the draw to the place previously occupied by Bronzetti.
Qualifier Marina Stakusic took the place in the draw previously occupied by Kostyuk.
Sakatsume took the place in the draw originally allocated to a qualifier, and would play third seed Jasmine Paolini.

First round results:

- Harriet Dart defeated Maryna Danevska 6-4 7-5
- Tatjana Maria defeated Nadiia Podoroska 7-5 6-1
- Wildcard Katherine Sebov defeated Wang Xinyu 3-6 6-4 6-0
- Daria Saville (9) defeated Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6-3 6-3
