Final:
Kaia Kanepi (6) (Estonia) v Liudmila Samsonova
Samsonova won the only previous contest between the players - straight sets first round Wimbledon 2021.
Through nine games of the first set, neither player was taken to deuce on serve.
However, serving at 4-5, Samsonova was broken and Kanepi took the set 6-4.
Serving at 2-3 in the second set, Samsonova saved a break point, then held to level things.
Samsonova in the following game broke the Kanepi serve and led 4-3.
The break was consolidated.
Serving to stay in the set, Kanepi was suddenly down 0-40.
She could only save one set point and Samsonova had turned the match around. The set was hers 6-3.
No break points in the decider through seven games.
Serving at 3-4, Kanepi was broken to love.
Samsonova served out the match 4-6 6-3 6-3 to claim the title.
This was the second title from as many finals for Samsonova, adding to the German Open won in June last year.
