2022 Sydney Tennis Classic - a WTA 500 tournament, on Hard Greenset, in Sydney, Australia, 10-15 January 2022.
A one off tournament, held in conjunction with an ATP 250 event.
Held because of the Brisbane International being cancelled due to COVID-19.
The following players withdrew after entering but before the main draw was published:
- Leylah Fernandez replaced by Ajla Tomljanovic
- Simona Halep replaced by Zhang Shuai
- Angelique Kerber replaced by Daria Kasatkina
- Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova replaced by Ekaterina Alexandrova
- Maria Sakkari replaced by Jelena Ostapenko
Ashleigh Barty, world number 1, is top seed.
The other 7 seeds are all in the top 13
The top two seeds have first round byes.
