Keys wins in Adelaide - her 6th title

Final day in Adelaide.

2022 Adelaide International 2 - a WTA 250 tournament, on Hard Greenset, in Adelaide, Australia, 10-15 January 2022.
Added to the calendar to give more players more competition time to warm up for the Australian Open.

Final :

Alison Riske (USA) v Madison Keys (USA)

The pair had met six times previously, with Keys winning the past five matches, although the last of these was the opening round of US Open 2016.

In her eleventh final, Keys was attempting to win a sixth title, her last coming in Cincinnati August 2019.
In her twelfth final, Riske was attempting to win her fourth title, her last coming in Linz, November 2021.

The opening set saw Keys break the Riske serve in both the fourth and sixth games, while not being threatened on her own delivery.
Only when serving for the set at 5-1, was Keys taken to deuce, as Riske saved three set points. 
Keys managed to seal things with a fourth opportunity and led 6-1.

Momentum remained with Keys who broke Riske to love in the first game of set two.
Riske saved four break points in the third game to avoid being a double break down.
Riske saved another break point in the fifth game but was broken in the seventh, leaving Keys to serve for the match at 6-1 5-2.

Keys raced to 40-0, and while Riske saved one of the three match points it wasn’t enough, and Keys secured the title 6-1 6-2.
