The WTA tour continues in Mexico.
2023 Mérida Open Akron, a WTA 250 tournament, on Hard, in Mérida, Mexico, 20-26 February 2023.
This is a new tournament on the WTA Tour calendar, and replaces the Abierto Akron Zapopan, which was held in Zapopan, Mexico from 2019-2022.
The following players withdrew after entering but before the main draw was published:
- Dalma Galfi replaced by Ysaline Bonaventure
- Donna Vekic replaced by Panna Udvardy
Magda Linette, world number 21, is top seed.
The other 7 seeds are all in the top 58
