Fritz had a 2-1 record in previous matches against Kecmanovic, although Kecmanovic’s victory was in the most recent contest - the round of sixteen in Miami last year.

Set one belonged to Fritz.

He won each service game easily, and broke Kecmanovic three times to take it 6-0 in 25 minutes.

In set two, Kecmanovic saved two break points in the eighth game, then held to level at 4-4.

He then saved a match point when serving at 4-5.

Fritz was broken when serving at 5-5.

Kecmanovic served out the set 7-5 to level the match.

Fritz broke serve in the fourth game of the decider to lead 3-1

He consolidated for 4-1.

Serving at 2-5, Kecmanovic was broken again and the match was over.

Taylor Fritz won 6-0 5-7 6-2 to claim his fifth title.
