2023 Mérida Open Akron, a WTA 250 tournament, on Hard, in Mérida, Mexico, 20-26 February 2023.
This is a new tournament on the WTA Tour calendar, and replaces the Abierto Akron Zapopan, which was held in Zapopan, Mexico from 2019-2022.
Second round results:
- Caty McNally defeated wildcard Katie Volynets 6-3 6-0
- Qualifier Kimberly Birrell defeated Wang Xiyu 6-3 6-2
- Elisabetta Cocciaretto (7) defeated Wang Xinyu 6-4 6-2
- Camila Giorgi defeated Nuria Parrizas Diaz 7-6(5) 6-2
