Alycia Parks 1st title in Lyon

Caroline Garcia (1) (France) v Alycia Parks (USA)

Garcia won the only previous match between the players - first round in qualifying for Cincinnati in 2021.

Garcia was attempting to add to her 11 titles, while Parks was appearing in her first WTA final.

In the third game Garcia faced the only break point of set one, and it was saved.

A tie break was required. 

In the first ten points, eight went with the serve and it was 5-5.

Still going with serve until Garcia went to the line at 7-8.

Parks won the point and the first set 7-6(7).

In set two, Larks saved a break point in game five, and Garcia did the same in game eight.

It was on serve at 4-4.

Parks saved three break points in the longest game of the match to lead 6-5.

Serving to stay in the match, Garcia led 30-15, but lost the next three points and the contest was over.

Alycia Parks won the title 7-6(7) 7-5 in her first final, and her ranking improved to a career high of 51.
