Miomir Kecmanovic who defeated Qualifier Yannick Hanfmann 6-4 6-4

Final:

Casper Ruud (1) (Norway) v Pedro Martinez (Spain)

This was the first contest between the pair, and Martinez had to survive four deuces and a break point in his opening service game before levelling at 1-1. He wasn’t so lucky in his next two attempts to hold, while Ruud didn’t face a break point throughout the set. He easily won it 6-1.

Set two was competitive, and only one break chance surfaced in the first nine games. It was saved by Martinez.

In a surprise tenth game, Ruud was broken to love, handing the set to Martinez 6-4.

Ruud regrouped quickly, taking Martinez to deuce in the opening game of set three, then breaking the Spanish serve in game three,

A Norwegian love game gave Ruud a 3-1 lead, and a service break in the next game an even greater buffer.

5-1 after another Ruud love service hold. Martinez managed to survive two deuces, and force Ruud to serve for the title.

He couldn’t do it, and Martinez retrieved one of the breaks to trail 3-5.

Undeterred, Ruud broke to win 6-1 4-6 6-3.

Title number three in succession for Casper Ruud, and fourth for 2021, all ATP 250 category, and all on clay.

Ranking improved to career high #12.
