Cachin wins 1st title in Gstaad

Final day in Gstaad.

2023 EFG Swiss Open Gstaad, an ATP 250 tournament, on Clay, Gstaad, Switzerland, 17-23 July 2023.

2022 champion (not defending):
Casper Ruud (1) who defeated Matteo Berrettini (2) 4-6 7-6(4) 6-2

Final:

Pedro Cachin (Argentina) v Albert Ramos-Vinolas (Spain)

First time meeting between the players, and first ATP final for Cachin.

Ramos-Vinolas saved two break points in the second game of set one before holding serve.
He then broke the Cachin serve to lead 2-1.

Cachin saved two break points in the fifth game to avoid going down a double break.
Serving at 3-5 to stay in the set, Cachin was broken again and Ramos-Vinolas took the set 6-3.

Cachin broke Ramos-Vinolas in the first, third and fifth games of set two, and led 5-0.
He served it out 6-0.

Ramos-Vinolas was broken in the opening game of the decider, but broke back in the eighth game for 4-4.
Cachin broke serve in the eleventh game to take a 6-5 lead.

Pedro Cachin served out the match 3-6 6-0 7-5 and claimed his first ATP title.
