WTA - Prague 1R complete

First round completed in Prague.

2021 Livesport Prague Open a WTA 250 tournament, on Hard, in Prague, Czech Republic, 12-18 July 2021.
Event held last year from 10-16 August 2020 due to COVID-19.

2020 champion (not defending):
Simona Halep (1) who defeated Elise Mertens (3) 6-2 7-5


The following players withdrew after the main draw was published:


- Sixth seed Hsieh Su-wei, replaced by lucky loser Conny Perrin, due to a hip injury 

Greet Minnen was instated as ninth seed and moved in the draw to the spot previously occupied by Hsieh Su-wei.

- Third seed Marketa Vondrousova, replaced by lucky loser Liang En-Shuo, due to a thigh injury 

- Elena-Gabriela Ruse, replaced by lucky loser Anastasia Gasanova, due to a scheduling change
