Jabeur wins Ningbo Open

Wildcard Ons Jabeur (1) (Tunisia) v Diana Shnaider (Russia)

First time meeting between the players.

First WTA Tour level final for Shnaider.

Jabeur broke in the third and fifth games of set one to take a 4-1 lead.

She then saved a break point before consolidating and extending to 5-1.

Shnaider held serve to stay in the set, but Jabeur served it out 6-2.

Shnaider saved a break point and held in the opening game of set two, but was broken in game three.

Jabeur broke again in game five.

Shnaider served at 1-5 to stay in the match, and saved one match point.

She couldn’t save the next one and Jabeur won the day 6-2 6-1.

Title number five for Jabeur, and second this year, following Charleston in April.
