Swiatek wins China Open

Final day in Beijing.

Tournament last held in 2019. 

2020, 2021 and 2022 cancelled due to COVID.

Final:

Liudmila Samsonova v Iga Swiatek (2)

Swiatek won both previous matches between the players, most recently Dubai round of sixteen, February this year.

In the final, Swiatek achieved the first service break in game six of the opening set, and led 4-2.

Serving at 2-5 to stay in the set, Samsonova was broken again, and Swiatek took the set 6-2.

Swiatek broke to love in game four of set two and led 3-1.

Serving at 2-5:to stay in the match, Samsonova was broken once more and the match was over.

Iga Swiatek won 6-2 6-2 to claim her 16th title, fifth this year, and sixth at WTA 1000 level.
