Siniakova wins title in Nanchang

Final day in Nanchang.

2023 Jiangxi Open, a WTA 250 tournament, on Hard Outdoor, Nanchang, China, 16-22 October 2023.

Tournament last held in 2019. 
2020, 2021 cancelled due to COVID.
2022 cancelled due to concerns for Peng Shuai 

2019 champion (not defending):
Rebecca Peterson (5) who defeated Elena Rybakina (4) 6-2 6-0

Final:

Marie Bouzkova (3) (Czech Republic) v Katerina Siniakova (Czech Republic)

Siniakova won the only previous match between the players - opening round 2021 Roland Garros.

After Bouzkova held serve in the opening game of set one, there were three straight service breaks.
This left Bouzkova ahead 3-1.

Another break of the Siniakova serve in the sixth gsme gave Bouzkova the chance to serve out the set.
She did this to love and led 6-1.

The players exchanged service breaks in the first two games of set two.
Bouzkova broke in the fifth game for a 3-2 lead.
She saved a break point in the eighth game before holding and the lead was 5-3.

Siniakova saved a match point in the following game and held for 4-5.
Serving for the match, Bouzkova was broken.

Bouzkova served at 5-6, and in the longest gsme of the match she survived eight deuces and saved four set points.
Eventually a tie break was forced.

Six of the first eight points went against serve and Siniakova led 6-2.

Bouzkova saved three more set points but couldn’t save a fourth - Siniakova took the tie break and set 7-6(5)

Bouzkova broke in game four of the decider to lead 3-1.
Siniakova broke straight back.

Bouzkova broke in the eighth game for 5-3.
Serving for the match Bouzkova led 40-15, but Siniakova saved the two match points and proceeded to break serve.

Siniakova broke again to lead 6-5.
Bouzkova prevented Siniakova from serving out the match, instead forcing a second tie break.

On serve at 3-4, Bouzkova lost the next point on her serve and Siniakova had the edge 5-3.

With two serves to come at 5-4, Siniakova converted both and the match was over,

Katerina Siniakova won 1-6 7-6(5) 7-6(4) to clinch her fifth title, and second this year following Bad Homburg in June.
