This is the first time the tournament has been held since 1996, when Byron Black (1) defeated Martin Damm 7-6(3) 6-3 in the final.
3rd seed Taylor Fritz withdrew after the main draw was published due to illness, and was replaced by lucky loser Shintaro Mochizuki.
Mochizuki received the first round bye originally given to Fritz.
