This was a replay of last years final, which took Basilashvili ahead 3-2 in the head to head battle between the pair.
Basilashvili was aiming for a sixth title from his ninth final, while Bautista Agut was aiming for a tenth title from his nineteenth final.
The defending champion broke Bautista Agut in the third game to take the early advantage 2-1.
Basilashvili saved a break point on the way to consolidating for 3-1, but Bautista Agut broke back in the sixth game to level at 3-3.
Bautista Agut broke again in the eighth game, then served out the set 6-3.
In the opening game of set two, Basilashvili led 40-15, but then had to endure five deuces and save a break point before holding serve.
All that hard work was worth it as Basilashvili broke the Bautista Agut serve in the next game.
3-0 after consolidating the break.
As he’d done in the first set, Bautista Agut stopped the Georgian fast start, this time in the fifth game where he broke back after converting the third of three break points.
Bautista Agut broke once more in the ninth game, and led 5-4.
Roberto Bautista Agut served out the match 6-3 6-4 to win the title.
