Trevisan wins 1st title in Rabat

Final day in Rabat.

Final:

Martina Trevisan (Italy) v Claire Liu (USA)

This would be the first WTA match between the pair, and also the first final for either player.

Trevisan broke Liu in the opening game, and Liu responded by breaking straight back, but not before Trevisan had saved four break points.

Trevisan saved another two break points in the fourth game to level at 2-2.

Liu also saved a pair of break points in the following game - however, she couldn’t save a third and Trevisan led 3-2.

Trevisan broke again in the seventh game and served out the set 6-2 - took until the fifth set point to clinch it.

Liu held serve in game one of set two, but that was her last hoorah.

Trevisan won the rest and the match 6-2 6-1.
