ATP - Rome 1R continued

First round continued in Rome.

2022 Internazionali BNL d’Italia, an ATP Masters 1000 tournament, on Clayin Rome, Italy, 8-15 May 2022.

Defending champion:
Rafael Nadal (2) who defeated Novak Djokovic (1) 7-5 1-6 6-3

16th seed Roberto Bautista Agut withdrew after the main draw was published due to a wrist injury, and was replaced by lucky loser Marcos Giron.
Bautista Agut’s original place in the draw was taken by qualifier Dusan Lajovic.
Giron’s place in the draw was originally reserved for a qualifier, but as a lucky loser he now filled the spot, and would play Alexander Bublik first up.
7th seed Carlos Alcaraz withdrew after the main draw was published due to an ankle injury, and was replaced by lucky loser Emil Ruusuvuori.
Ruusuvuori received the first round bye previously given to Alcaraz.
