Final:
Qualifier Laura Pigossi (Brazil) v qualifier Tatjana Maria (Germany)
The players had never met before in a WTA match.
This was the first final for Pigossi, and the second for Maria, who won the Mallorca Open in June 2018.
Neither player was troubled on serve in the early part of the match, with only one trip to deuce in the first seven games - Pigossi in game six.
Then Maria struck in the eighth game, breaking the Brazilian serve.
A love game clinched the set 6-3.
The first break points of set two came in the sixth game and Pigossi converted the second of these. She led 4-2.
Consolidation for 5-2.
Maria held serve, forcing Pigossi to serve for the set.
Pigossi survived two break points, saw a set point disappear, and finally surrendered to a third break point.
Games were back on serve.
Maria was again serving to stay alive in the match.
Three game points for Maria, and chances to level at 5-5, all vanished, and then a set point for Pigossi was offered. She was happy to accept and the set was hers 6-4.
In the opening game of the decider, Pigossi held serve, but only after surviving seven deuces and three break points.
Maria saved two break points herself, then broke Pigossi in the third game to lead 2-1.
Maria broke the Pogossi serve again in the seventh game, and served out the match 6-3 4-6 6-2.
The title takes Tatjana Maria up 122 places to #115 in the rankings.
Laura Pigossi moves up 86 places to a career high ranking of #126.
