Iga Swiatek (1) (Poland) v Aryna Sabalenka (3)
The two previous matches between the pair had been split 1-1, with Swiatek winning the most recent - Doha quarter final, February 2022.
Swiatek was aiming to win her seventh title in her eighth final, while Sabalenka was looking for her eleventh title in her sixteenth final.
Swiatek served first, and saved a break point before holding. She then broke Sabalenka to love.
Swiatek saved another break point in the fifth game to lead 4-1.
Sabalenka, when serving at 2-5 to stay in the set, was broken.
Swiatek led 6-2.
Sabalenka saved two break points in the second game of set two, and serve was held through five games.
In game six, Sabalenka saw three game points disappear, and Swiatek then converted the first break point that came her way.
She led 4-2.
Serving at 2-5, Sabalenka found herself down 0-40. Two match points were saved, but not a third, and the match was over.
Iga Swiatek won her fourth title this year 6-2 6-2, extending her winning run of matches to 23.
