Final:

Victoria Azarenka (4) (Belarus) v Aryna Sabalenka (3) (Belarus)

Before Ostrava, the two Belarusians has net twice, both times at the US Open. In 2019, Sabalenka won a three set first round match, and this year, Azarenka avenged that in straight sets in the second round.

Azarenka began with a service hold, but had to save two break points in the process. The fourth seed wasn’t as fortunate in the fifth game however when dropping serve to love.

Sabalenka was taken to deuce, but consolidated for 4-2, then Azarenka failed to convert two game points and was broken again. A love game saw Sabalenka serve out the opening set 6-2.

Azarenka was broken to love for the second time in the match in the third game of set two. Sabalenka sailed to a 4-1 lead after she cracked the Azarenka serve once more.

The pair exchanged breaks, leaving Sabalenka to serve for the match at 5-2.

Aryna Sabalenka converted her third match point to take the title 6-2 6-2.

Second title for the year, and seventh career overall from eleven finals.
