Semi finals

Iga Swiatek v qualifier Nadia Podoroska

Swiatek was taken to deuce in the opening game, and also in game five, but she held on both occasions. Significantly she broke the Podoroska serve in the second game, hitting winners from either side. Neither serve was threatened thereafter, until Podoroska was at the line trailing 2-5. Despite a couple of forehand winners, the Argentine backhand failed her, and Swiatek converted the third set point presented. 6-2 to Poland.

Swiatek began set two in style, three winners marking the first game and another two in the second, including a forehand to break Posoroska. A perfect forehand lob created two break points for Swiatek in game four, the first of which was converted, and Podoroska was staring 0-4 in the face,
A fighting fifth game, the longest of the match, saw the Argentine qualifier finally on the board, after a fourth break point was followed by an errant polish forehand.
That was all though, as Swiatek quickly broke back, largely based on Podoroska mistakes. Serving for the match, Iga Swiatek finished with a pair of backhand winners and an unreturned serve to earn a spot in the final 6-2 6-1.

Sofia Kenin (4) v Petra Kvitová (7)

Kvitová began with a love game, but then delivered two shocking service games and Kenin led 4-1. The dual Wimbledon champion then settled and the match was evenly poised, but Kvitová could only retrieve one of the service breaks and Kenin won the opening set 6-4.
Set two saw Kvitová with the first break chance in game three, but it was saved. Kenin was presented with one in the fourth game, and she converted it to lead 3-2.
The longest game of the match was next and Kvitová had four chances to draw level, but each one was dashed, three times from Kenin winners.
Kenin served for the match at 5-4 but wobbled and was broken.
Kvitová failed to capitalise and in turn lost her serve. On her second attempt to serve for the match, Kenin survived a break point before winning a place in the final 6-4 7-5

The final will be fought between Iga Swiatek and Sofia Kenin (4)
