Roland Garros 2020 - Men’s Singles Final

Day Fifteen of Roland Garros 2020 - Men’s Singles Final.

2019 champion:

Rafael Nadal (2) who defeated Dominic Thiem (4) 6-3 5-7 6-1 6-1

Final

Novak Djokovic (1) (Serbia) v Rafael Nadal (2) (Spain)

Djokovic led 40-15 in two of his service games in set one, but was broken in both. He was also broken in the other time he was at the line. In the one game where he had break chances, Nadal survived, and the defending champion took the set without surrendering a game.
The shocking start for Djokovic continued in set two, where after surviving three break points in the opening game, he dropped his next two serves, and Nadal methodically grabbed a two set lead 6-0 6-2.
Djokovic avoided disaster for awhile in set three, leading 2-1, games on serve, saving a break point in the process. However, serving at 2-2, the top seed was broken to love.
Some resilience showed when Djokovic converted the second of two break points in game six to draw level once more.
At 5-5 Djokovic was broken and Nadal then served a love game to win the match 6-0 6-2 7-5, his 13th Roland Garros title and 20th major, equaling the record of Roger Federer.
