This is the first time the tournament has been played since 2016, then as the BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy.

Fernando Verdasco who defeated Lucas Pouille 6-3 6-2
Second round results:
- Wildcard Joao Fonseca defeated qualifier Radu Albot 7-6(2) 6-2 after play resumed from previous day
- Corentin Moutet defeated Nuno Borges (7) 6-2 6-7(3) 6-2
- Marton Fucsovics defeated Tallon Griekspoor (2) 7-5 6-1
