This is the first time the tournament has been played since 2016, then as the BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy.

Fernando Verdasco who defeated Lucas Pouille 6-3 6-2
Wildcard Richard Gasquet withdrew after main draw was published due to illness, and was replaced by lucky loser Benjamin Bonzi.
First round results:
