Linz - WTA International

The next week - three tournaments will be contested across the ATP and WTA Tours. The big one is the 2019 ATP Masters 1000 event in Shanghai.

Upper Austria Ladies Linz - a WTA International tournament, on Hard Decoturf on wood, in Linz, Austria, 7-13 October 2019.

Defending champion:

Camila Giorgi (5) who defeated qualifier Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-3 6-1


The following players withdrew after entering but before the main draw was published:


- Danielle Collins replaced by Anna Blinkova 

- Camila Giorgi replaced by Jelena Ostapenko  

- Petra Kvitová replaced by Andrea Petkovic 

- Jessica Pegula replaced by Elena Rybakina 

- Marketa Vondrousova replaced by Alison Van Uytvanck 


After the main draw was published, third seed Anastasija Sevastova withdrew with a shoulder injury.

She was replaced by lucky loser Ysaline Bonaventure.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova was installed as ninth seed and the draw was rearranged with Pavlyuchenkova taking the spot previously occupied by Sevastova.


Kiki Bertens, world number 8, is top seed.

The other seeds are all in the top 40

- Viktoria Kuzmova defeated wildcard Julia Grabher 6-4 6-2

- Andrea Petkovic defeated Jil Teichmann 6-1 6-1

- Kateryna Kozlova defeated Anna Blinkova 6-1 6-7(1) 7-6(5)
