In an evenly matched contest, Mayer couldn’t capitalise on eight break points, converting only two, whereas Berrettini used three of four chances to his advantage.
Wildcard Casper Ruud defeated fellow wildcard Jaume Munar 6-7(7) 6-4 6-0.

Laslo Djere defeated Pablo Cuevas 6-4 1-6 6-3
The points won on serve for the match were 62% Djere and 63% Cuevas. Points won on return were 38% each.
Djere could have won this match in less than the two hours he took, if he had taken more advantage of his break points - he only converted three of twelve. Cuevas converted three of four.
