Quarter finals in Montreal last year.
The players exchanged service breaks in the second and third games of set one,
Rybakina led 2-1.
Rybakina then won the next four games, including two more breaks of the Kasatkina serve.
The set was won 6-1 by the top seed.
Kasatkina saved two break points in the opening game of set two before holding serve.
After Rybakina levelled at 1-1 there were four successive breaks of serve.
This left it tied at 3-3.
Rybakina broke in the ninth game to lead 5-4, then served out the match 6-1 6-4.
Seventh title for Elena Rybakina, and second this year, following Brisbane in January.
