Sebastian Baez (Argentina) v wildcard Dominic Thiem (Austria)
Baez won the only previous encounter between the players - 2022 quarter final in Bastad, Sweden.
In this final, Baez broke the Thiem serve in the fourth game of the opening set to lead 3-1.
Thiem saved two break points in the sixth game but remained a break down 2-4.
No more break chances for either player, and Baez served out the set 6-3.
Baez broke serve in the first and fifth games of set two to lead 4-1.
Thiem had two chances in the sixth game, longest of the match, to retrieve one of the breaks.
He couldn’t convert either, and Baez extended the lead to 5-1.
Serving to stay in the match, Thiem let a 30-15 lead slip, and Baez broke once more to win the match 6-3 6-1.
This was title number three for Sebastian Baez, and second in 2023, following his win in Córdoba, Argentina in February.
