Wildcard Sofia Kenin v wildcard Barbora Krejcikova (4)
Krejcikova won the only previous match between the players - 2021 second round in Rome.
In this final, Kenin broke serve in game five.
More breaks followed in the next three games and it was 4-4.
Serving at 4-5 to stay in the set, Kenin led 40-15.
However she let the lead slip and eventually lost serve, the set going to Krejcikova 6-4.
Kenin broke the Krejcikova serve in the opening game of set two.
Kenin saved a break point in the fourth game and four more in the sixth game, holding serve each time.
The lead was 4-2.
Krejcikova was broken again in the seventh game and then Kenin served out the set 6-2.
No break points were faced for eight games of the decider and it was 4-4.
Krejcikova saved four break points before holding for 5-4.
Kenin saved one match point when serving at 4-5, but couldn’t save a second, and the contest was over.
Barbora Krejcikova won 6-4 2-6 6-4 to claim her seventh title and second this year, following Dubai in February.
