The most recent clash saw Alcaraz win a semi final at this year’s Indian Wells Masters 1000.
This is second RG semi for Alcaraz, and first for Sinner.
Sinner broke Alcaraz in the opening game of the match.
He repeated the dose in game three to lead 3-0.
Alcaraz retrieved one of the breaks in game six and trailed 2-4.
Sinner broke again in the following game and then served out the set 6-2.
Sinner broke in the opening game of set two, then consolidated for 2-0.
Alcaraz responded by winning the next five games, breaking Sinner twice in the process.
Sinner stopped the rot by holding for 3-5, but Alcaraz served out the set 6-3.
Players exchanged breaks of serve in games three and four of set three. 2-2.
In a five deuce game, Sinner saved four break points and held for 3-2.
Alcaraz saved two break points in the sixth game, but not a third.
Sinner led 4-2.
No more break opportunities and Sinner took the set 6-3.
No breaks of serve in set four until Sinner served at 4-5 to stay in the set.
He led 30-15 but lost the next three points, and Alcaraz won the set 6-4.
Sinner was broken in game two of the decider and Alcaraz led 2-0.
No more break chances, and Carlos Alcaraz served out the match 2-6 6-3 3-6 6-4 6-3.
Into his first Roland Garros final.
