This would be the fourth semi final appearance at the AO for Tsitsipas, and the first for Khachanov.

The set went to a tie break, and Tsitsipas raced to 6-1. Khachanov saved one of the five set points, but couldn’t prevent Tsitsipas from taking the set 7-6(2).

Tsitsipas had two match points at 6-4, but Khachanov saved both and eventually won the set 7-6(6).

This was enough, as Khachanov couldn’t place pressure on the Tsitsipas serve for the remainder of the set, not even taking it to deuce.
