Final:
Novak Djokovic (1) (Serbia) v Sebastian Korda (USA)
This was the first meeting between the pair.
No breaks of serve through the first eight games.
Djokovic was broken in the ninth game, and Korda had 40-0 when serving for the set at 5-4.
Djokovic saved all three set points and then broke back.
Korda served at 5-6 and saved a set point before forcing a tie break.
Korda had two set points at 6-4, but couldn’t convert.
Djokovic had a set point at 7-6, but also failed to convert.
Ultimately, Korda took the tie break and the set 7-6(8).
In set two, Korda saved two break points in the third game.
Neither player was taken to deuce in any other game until Djokovic served at 5-6 to stay in the match.
The top seed saved a match point before forcing another tie break.
Djokovic dominated the tie break and won the set 7-6(3).
In the decider Korda saved two break points in the fourth game.
No other break points faced through nine games.
Korda served at 4-5 to stay in the match, and had 40-15.
However Djokovic won the final four points to win the match 6-7(8) 7-6(3) 6-4.
The title was number 92 from 131 finals for Djokovic, and confirmed his favouritism for the Australian Open.
