2023 ASB Classic, a WTA 250 tournament, on Hard, in Auckland, New Zealand, 2-8 January 2023.
Not held in 2021 and 2022 due to COVID.

Serena Williams (1) who defeated Jessica Pegula 6-3 6-4
Final:
CoCo Gauff (1) (USA) v qualifier Rebeka Masarova (Spain)
This would be the first meeting between the pair, and first WTA final for Masarova.
Gauff saved a break point in the third game of set one, before holding serve.
Then the top seed broke Masarovs in two successive service games to lead 5-1.
After a rain delay, Gauff served for the set.
It took awhile - Masarova saved four set points, and Gauff needed to save two break points, but in the end the set was won 6-1.
In set two, there were break points faced in all but one game.
Gauff saved two break points in the fourth game, but broke Masarova in the the first and fifth games to lead 4-1.
Another five break points were saved by Gauff before she held for 5-1.
Masarova served at 1-5 to stay in the match, but was broken, and Gauff won 6-1 6-1.
This was title number three for Gauff, and first since Parma, Italy in May 2021.
