WTA - Ostrava

The WTA tour continues in the Czech Republic.

2021 J&T Banka Ostrava Open a WTA 500 tournament, on Hard Indoor, in Ostrava, Czech Republic, 20-26 September 2021.
Event held last year from 19-25 October 2020.

2020 champion (not defending):
Aryna Sabalenka (3) who defeated Victoria Azarenka (4) 6-2 6-2


The following players withdrew after entering but before the main draw was published:


- Barbora Krejcikova replaced by Zhang Shuai 

- Elise Mertens replaced by lucky loser Varvara Gracheva

- Petra Martic replaced by Sara Sorribes Tormo 

- Karolina Pliskova replaced by Jil Teichmann 

- Elina Svitolina replaced by Sorana Cirstea 


8th seed Karolina Muchova withdrew after the main draw was published due to an abdominal injury, and was replaced by lucky loser Anna Blinkova 

Paula Badosa was instated as ninth seed and moved in the draw to the place previously occupied by Muchova.


Iga Swiatek, world number 6, is top seed.

The other 7 seeds are all in the top 27

The top four seeds have first round byes.
