Daniil Medvedev (4) defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6(6) 6-2, and will play Kei Nishikori in the final
AUCKLAND
WTA Semi Finals
Julia Goerges (2) defeated Viktoria Kuzmova 6-1 7-6(6)
Qualifier Bianca Andreescu defeated Su-Wei Hsieh (3) 6-3 6-3, and will play Julia Goerges in the final
SHENZHEN
WTA Semi Finals
Aryna Sabalenka (1) defeated Yafan Wang 6-2 6-1
Alison Riske defeated wildcard Vera Zvonareva 6-0 1-0 (retired), and she would play Aryna Sabalenka in the final
The final was played, and Aryna Sabalenka had to fight all the way to her third title, winning 4-6 7-6(2) 6-3 over a valiant Alison Riske.
The win will take Sabalenka up two places to a ranking of 11, equaling her career high.
Riske moves up 14 spots to 48, just 12 off her career high.
