Andreeva broke serve in the opening game of the first set and led 1-0.
Avanesyan broke back in the fourth game to level at 2-2.
Andreeva broke again in the following game and led 3-2.
Avanesyan saved three break points in the seventh game, and held.
She avoided going down a double break, and trailed 3-4.
Games were level at 4-4 when Avanesyan broke back in the eighth game.
Andreeva served at 4-5 to stay in the set.
She held for 5-5.
Serving at 5-6 to stay in the set, Andreeva was broken and Avanesyan took the set 7-5.
The players exchanged breaks of serve in games three and four of set two.
