Alcaraz into his 2nd Wimbledon final

Defending champion:
Carlos Alcaraz (1) who defeated Novak Djokovic (2) 1-6 7-6(6) 6-1 3-6 6-4

Semi final:

Daniil Medvedev (5) v Carlos Alcaraz (3) 

Alcaraz won four of the six previous matches between the players.
This included last year’s Wimbledon semi final, and most recently the 2024 Indian Wells final.

Medvedev broke serve in the fourth game of the opening set to lead 3-1.
He saved three break points in the following game, but Alcaraz broke on the fourth. 

Three successive breaks and Medvedev led 4-2.
Medvedev consolidated for 5-2.

Alcaraz served to stay in the set, and he held to love.

Medvedev served for the set.
Alcaraz broke back and trailed 4-5, games on serve.
Backed up with a service hold - 5-5.

Alcaraz served at 5-6, for the third time to stay in the set.
He held and forced a tie break.

Medvedev won the tie break and set 7-6(1).

Alcaraz broke Medvedev in game four of set two to lead 3-1.
He consolidated for 4-1.

Medvedev served at 2-5 to stay in the set.
He held and trailed 3-5.

Alcaraz served out the set 6-3.

Alcaraz broke serve in the third game of set three, and led 2-1.
Medvedev saved a break point in game seven and held, but trailed 3-4.

Medvedev served at 3-5 to stay in the set and held for 4-5.

Alcaraz served out the set 6-4.

The players exchanged breaks of serve in the first two games of set four.
1-1.
Alcaraz broke in the seventh game to lead 4-3.

Medvedev served at 3-5 to stay in the match.
He held, forcing Alcaraz to serve for the match.

Alcaraz won the match 6-7(1) 6-3 6-4 6-4, and made the final, with the chance to defend his title.
