Mens semi final results
- Daniil Medvedev (5) defeated Grigor Dimitrov 7-6(5) 6-4 6-3
- Rafa Nadal (2) defeated Matteo Berrettini (24) 7-6(6) 6-4 6-1, and will play Daniil Medvedev in the final.
It will be the first Grand Slam tournament final for Medvedev, and for Nadal number 27, the fourth at Flushing Meadows, twice already a champion here - 2013, 2017.
Women’s semi final results
- Bianca Andreescu (15) defeated Belinda Bencic (13) 7-6(3) 7-5
- Serena Williams (8) defeated Elina Svitolina (5) 6-3 6-1, and will play Bianca Andreescu in the final.
It will be the first Grand Slam tournament final for Andreescu, who has yet to lose to a top ten player, while Serena Williams will be contesting her 33rd major final. She has lost only nine times once reaching there. (including five of the last seven). Six times, Serena has lifted the US Open trophy from nine final appearances, over a twenty year period, beginning before Bianca was born.
