Final day in Santiago.

Defending champion:
Pedro Martinez (4) who defeated Sebastian Baez (7) 4-6 6-4 6-4

Final:

Nicolas Jarry (Chile) v Tomas Martin Etcheverry (Argentina)

Etcheverry won the only previous ATP Tour level match between the pair - first round in Córdoba last year.

In the final, no service breaks in the first eight games of set one.
Jarry had the only chance, with Etcheverry surviving two deuces and a break point in the fifth game,

A tie break appeared the likely end to the set, and it did transpire.

At 4-4 in the tie break no points had gone against serve.
The next three points went against serve, and at 6-5, Etcheverry had set point with his serve to come.
Jarry failed to return the serve and Etcheverry won the set 7-6(5).

Serving at 0-1 in set two, Etcheverry let a 40-0 lead slip, and was eventually broken.
Jarry consolidated for a 3-0 lead.
Etcheverry broke back in the seventh game, then held serve to level at 4-4.

The players served their way to another tie break.
Four of the first ten points went against serve, two apiece. 5-5.
Jarry took the next point with a forehand winner - on the Etcheverry serve - and led 6-5 with set point on his own serve.
A winning overhead was the final shot of the set, won by Jarry 7-6(5), forcing a decider.

Etcheverry was broken in the first game of the final set.
Jarry broke again in the fifth game.
With the double break, he was able to serve out the match 6-7(5) 7-6(5) 6-2 and take the title.

This was the second title for Jarry, ending a long period since his first - the Swedish Open in July 2019.
