Defending champion:

Cameron Norrie (21) who defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili (29) 3-6 6-4 6-1

2nd seed Novak Djokovic was forced to withdraw after the main draw was published due to USA border restrictions, and was replaced by lucky loser Joao Sousa.

Grigor Dimitrov was instated as 33rd seed and moved in the draw to the place previously occupied by Djokovic.

He has the first round bye originally given to Djokovic.

Dimitrov’s place in the draw was taken by qualifier Mikhail Kukushkin.

Sousa’s place in the draw was originally reserved for a qualifier, but as a lucky loser he now filled the spot and played Pedro Martinez first up.
