WTA - Charleston

The WTA Tour continues in the USA.

2021 Volvo Car Open a WTA 500 tournament, on Green Clay, in Charleston, South Carolina, USA, 5-11 April 2021.
Event not held last year due to COVID-19.

Fourth seed, Kiki Bertens, withdrew after the main draw was published, due to an achilles injury, and was replaced by lucky loser Wang Xinyu.

Ninth seed, Marketa Vondrousova, moved to the spot Bertens occupied in the draw, and received the first round bye that Bertens had been given.

Marie Bouzkova was instated as 17th seed.


Ashleigh Barty, world number 1, is top seed.

The other 15 seeds are all in the top 55

The top eight seeds have first round byes.
