Colombian teenager Maria Camila Osorio Serrano fought her way through almost three hours to win her first WTA title, and in her home country.
Previously a world number one junior, Osorio Serrano entered this tournament ranked 180, and needing a wildcard to make the main draw.
The wildcard was used well, with not one set dropped on the way to the final.
Although Zidansek was slow to start the final, falling behind 1-3, she immediately broke back and games reached 4-4.
Here, Zidansek broke for a second time, but failed to serve out the set, broken to love.
A third successive service break enabled the fifth seed to try again and this time she was successful, taking the lead 7-5.
Two breaks apiece brought the pair to 3-3 in set two, but Ororio Serrano won 12 of the next 15 points to level the match 5-7 6-3.
Continuing the momentum, the Columbian broke in the opening game of set three, and exchanged breaks with Zidansek in the middle of the set.
Serving for the match at 5-4, Ororio Serrano fell behind 0-40. She saved five break points before converting the first match point available.
The match was over 5-7 6-3 6-4.
Maria Camila Osorio Serrano won the Copa Colsanitas in Bogotá and as a result moved her ranking to a career high of #135.
