- Félix Auger-Aliassime v Albert Ramos-Vinolas
The 18 year old Canadian is making an impact on the ATP Tour, having just made the final of the Rio Open. Playing against a Spaniard 13 years his senior, Felix won 89% of points on his first serve in the opening set, hitting 7 aces. He dropped serve the once, but had eight chances to do the same to Albert. He converted only on a single occasion, and a tie break resulted. The better player over the course of the set, Felix controlled the tie break and won the advantage 7-6(2).
In set two, the pair protected their serves diligently, and both won well over 70% of points on first serve. One break chance presented itself but Felix fought it off, and a second tie break arrived. Albert contested more closely but once more it was the young Canadian who came up trumps.
